Common Questions

What is the inspection fee?
We charge an initial £90 + VAT (£108 inc. VAT) inspection fee. A Gas Safe engineer visits your property to check that your boiler is safe, compliant, and eligible for cover. This must be completed within 14 days of sign-up, and your cover begins only after a successful inspection. The inspection fee is non-refundable.
What's the 90-day qualifying period?
For the first 90 days of your plan, breakdown claims cannot be made — this prevents people signing up only when something goes wrong. However, emergency safety issues are exempt, accidental damage is covered from day one, and your annual service can be performed during this period.
What happens if my boiler can't be repaired?
If your boiler is deemed beyond economical repair (repair cost exceeds 60% of replacement value), we contribute towards a new installation: £1,000 for boilers under 7 years, £400 for 7–10 years, or £200 for over 10 years. This includes labour costs.
Can I cancel at any time?
There's a 12-month minimum term. After that, you can cancel with 30 days' written notice. You also have a 14-day statutory cooling-off period from the contract start date. If the inspection fails and you decline all repair options, you can cancel free of charge within 14 days.
Are parts included?
All labour is covered — you only pay for the parts we use, charged at competitive market rates. This keeps your monthly cost low while ensuring you never pay a call-out fee or excess charge.
What's NOT covered?
Key exclusions include: replacement parts (charged separately), showers & shower pumps, underfloor heating, unvented cylinders, smart/internet thermostats, sludge removal, pre-existing faults, and cosmetic repairs. Only natural gas boilers up to 70kW are covered — no LPG, oil, or electric systems. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
My boiler is quite old — can I still get cover?
Yes — there's no maximum age limit. Boilers over 7 years old have a £2/mo surcharge. Older equipment may need some remedial work identified during the inspection, but we'll give you a clear quote before any work begins.
What area do you cover?
We're based in Deal and cover a wide area across Kent including Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone, Ashford, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sandwich, Whitstable, Herne Bay, and surrounding areas.
